StaffWriters.com is the online unit of StaffWriters Plus, Inc., an established and highly regarded company providing editorial and content support for a wide array of businesses.

We have assisted financial service companies, major news organizations, information technology firms, dotcoms, software companies among others with a unique form of customer service and an expertise unmatched anywhere in the industry.

StaffWriters Plus, Inc. was launched in 1995 by George Giokas, then one of the top editors in charge of the business sections of Newsday/New York Newsday, one of the largest newspaper operations in the country. He established StaffWriters Plus following the demise of New York Newsday that same year.

A professional journalist since 1973, Giokas has been an investigative reporter, copy desk executive editor and an assignment editor. A freelancer himself, he currently writes a biweekly column on small business for Newsday and a column for BusinessWeek Online.

StaffWriters, which began in a small home office behind a garage, launched with fewer than 100 editors and writers on its database. This number quickly swelled to more than 1,500 in the first two years of operation and more than triple that currently.

It has established itself as the premier provider of highly specialized writers and editors and has assisted numerous businesses from startups to Fortune 50 companies with their temporary and permanent needs in the editing and writing areas. Its database consists of experts from across the country and around the world.

In addition to numerous regional business and community organizations, StaffWriters Plus is also a member of the New York Association of Temporary Services, the Long Island Software and Technology Network, the New York New Media Association, the Society for Human Resource Management and the Media Human Resources Association.

 

How We Work

This site has been designed to combine the convenience and speed of the Internet together with what our highly trained staff brings to each and every job. In short, if you don’t find what you’re looking for on this site, we want to know about it.

Unlike similar sites, which are largely run by nameless managers unfamiliar with the marketing, writing and editing industry, this site is run by industry professionals. This is not a resume nor a job warehouse. The information posted is screened and selected by staff members.

At a glance, here are some of the things that you should know about how we operate. Please refer to specific sections on this site and to our TERMS AND CONDITIONS for a more detailed explanation.

  • RESUMES. All of our submitted resumes are reviewed and confirmed by our staff before being posted onto StaffWriters.com. If a candidate does not meet our skill requirements or experience levels they will either be rejected or placed on a "standby" status.
  • JOBS. All of our job postings are reviewed and edited by our staff before they appear on StaffWriters.com. Though we cannot vouch for the validity of all job offers, we try our best to screen the jobs before you see them. Postings that are causing problems with job seekers will be deleted from the site.
  • PRICING. Job postings are $50 each. Our professional recruitment fees apply to the use of our highly trained recruiters and access to StaffWriters Plus Inc.'s full database, which includes many more candidates than are publicly posted on our Web site. Clients using our premium recruitment services have access to the entire database and the ability to work directly with a professional recruiter.
  • FEEDBACK. We are here to help you. If at any time you have a question about our site or choice of candidates or jobs, please call or contact us us so we may provide assistance.
  • NO AGENCIES. We do not allow outside recruiters to post on this site. We feel that this would impede our effort to control the quality of the posted material.
  • NO ADS. You’ll notice that we accept no advertising on this site, except for a link to Amazon.com which we consider a resource for our candidates.
  • TRADITIONAL. We still offer traditional staffing services as an alternative to our online service. By choosing this option you receive all the benefits of working with one of our highly trained recruiting professionals without the expense and pressure you find at staffing agencies.Contact us for details.
  • WHAT WE DON’T DO. We do not deal with ghostwriting novels or books except in the rare instances that the client has a contract with a reputable publisher and an advance. We also do not represent authors.
